Downs Syndrome, Toxins, Cleansing and Young Living Products

For every 3 pre-born child discovered to have Downs Syndrome, two that have been tested and found not to have Downs will die according to Downs Syndrome Education International. From what I have learned this syndrome is caused by genetic mutations caused during early pregnancy where the genes don’t replicate right or if one of the parents is a carrier of the mutation but is unaffected.

I did some research into what causes genes to mutate and discovered that toxins (chemicals that get into our bodies that our bodies don’t know how to deal with that can cause sickness or death) play a major role in causing genetic mutations.

Where can these toxins that can cause Downs come from?

Look around you. Just about anything that is mass produced, from food to cars to home furnishings, can be a source. The biggest culprit that we come into contact with daily is household cleaning supplies. Another that has been in the news lately is BPA (bisphenol a) - a chemical used to make plastics pliable.

Toxins leach from our garbage in landfills into the water table and into our streams and rivers where they eventually make it into our food supply. These toxins have found their way into some of the most remote ecosystems on our planet such as the Arctic Ocean and the tundra. As such today it is impossible not to come in contact with toxins.

In this day and age it is more import than ever that if you plan on having children to clean out your body and keep it clean, even before you conceive to help ensure you have a healthy happy child.

Back in the Dark Ages cups were made out of lead because it was fairly easy to get and very easy to work with, it sort of looked like silver which was harder to find and work with. After many generations it was noticed there was an increase in all kinds of diseases and birth defects. After a bit of trial and error over the years they discovered that it was the lead that was causing this (reference lead cups disease dark ages). They then eliminated lead drinking cups.

There are things you can do to limit your exposure. You can start to question where your stuff comes from, what it’s made from, and how it is made.

Then, purchase only those items with as few toxins used in the manufacturing process as possible. Don’t drink or eat from plastic containers.

Use stainless steel, glass, or ceramic (be careful about what goes into the glaze) cups, plates, bowls, etc. instead.

Another thing is that the so-called organic food in the supermarkets really isn’t organic. Over the last several years the FDA has relaxed the rules on what is allowed to be called organic - to the benefit of Big Food.

So, shop your local farmers market, get to know the vendors. Patronize them as much as you can.

We buy our grass-fed meat, wild seafood and raw milk butter online and have it delivered because, to date we have been unable to find excellent quality truly organic grass-fed meat locally. You should give U.S. Wellness Meats a try - a quarter pound burger made from their ground bison or a quarter of a meatloaf made from a pound of their ground lamb satisfies me (I walk about 4-5 miles every day and do a bunch of heavy lifting as well as a lot of mental work.) I am sure it satisfy you like it does me, making the cost comparable to what you would pay in the supermarket - but a whole lot healthier than what you find in any food store.

The next thing to do is to remove the toxins from your body. Some toxins will flush from your body on its own while others will not. They tend to become stored in fatty tissues such as cell walls or in the liver. When you reach a certain level of exposure you can develop any number of diseases.

Young Living has several products that can help you to remove these stubborn toxins as well as to help keep them from building up in the first place.

Although the jury is still out in the allopathic medicine model, cleansing has been done for millennia in various cultures around the world. Personally I find cleansing to do wonders when I know I am coming under toxin related stress. The feeling afterward is fantastic

The experts recommend cleansing four times a year. Personally I cleanse right before the change of seasons, or as close to that as possible. This is a way to help me remember to do it - no matter where I am or what I am doing at the time. Another thing about this is that you will get a good cleanse between all the eating (and sometimes not so good food as we go about our holiday business) and stress of Thanksgiving and Christmas and is close to the beginning of the New Year.
